The fee will reclaim a proportional amount of the bonus or match you received. SoFi calculates the percentage of your total equity that was withdrawn before the holding period ended and applies that same percentage to your original bonus or match to determine the amount forfeited due to the early withdrawal.
For example, if you deposit $7,000 into your SoFi Invest Account and earn a $70 bonus on November 1, 2025, you can withdraw all funds on or after November 1, 2030. If you withdraw before that date, you’ll keep the $70 bonus as long as your equity remains at or above the pre-promotion balance plus $7,070 (your deposit plus the 1% match). If you withdraw $500 and your equity falls to $6,570, you will be charged an early withdrawal fee of $4.95.
