Only payments that are still pending or unclaimed can be canceled.
If you sent money to another SoFi member:
The money is delivered instantly, so it can’t be canceled. If something went wrong, we recommend reaching out to the recipient and asking them to send it back.
If you sent money to someone who isn’t a SoFi member:
You can cancel the payment in the app or on the web:
- Log in to your SoFi account
- Go to the Banking
- Find the pending payment in the Activity section
- Select the payment and tap Cancel
- Review, confirm, and you’re all set
To cancel a payment the same day you sent it, be sure to do it before 5:30 PM ET. If it’s after that, the cancellation will process the next day.
These payments are just like any other private transaction between two people. We recommend only sending money to people you know and trust. If you have questions or concerns about a payment, please contact us.
