What personal information do I need to be eligible to open SoFi Checking and Savings accounts?

Once you're able to apply for SoFi Checking and Savings, we will need you to provide the following:

• First and Last Name
• Home address (Physical address in the 50 US states, District of Columbia, or US military states)
• Date of birth (Must be 18 years or older)
• Citizenship status (US citizen, permanent resident, non-permanent resident)
• Social security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)
• Phone number
• Email address

In some cases, we may need additional documentation, such as a copy of your driver's license and/or a current photo to verify your identity.

Note: At this time, we offer individual and joint SoFi Checking and Savings accounts. Trust and Business accounts are not currently available and we do not accept checks written out to a Trust or Business.
