How do I change the legal name/date of birth/ Social Security Number/ citizenship on my account?

To request a change or correction to your legal name, citizenship, or date of birth listed on your profile, please log into your account and chat with our member service team or you can call us at 855-456-7634.  

In order to change these important pieces of personal information, we require supporting documentation and we will require you to confirm your identity.

For a legal name change, please be prepared to provide the following:

• Valid government ID with your new name
• Court-issued document that must reference the your old name

To correct your Date of Birth, please be prepared to provide the following:

• Valid government ID to confirm your identity
• Valid government ID with your correct DOB 

To correct your Social Security number, please be prepared to provide the following:

• Valid government ID to confirm your identity
• Court-documented SSN card with correct SSN

To update your ITIN to a SSN, please be prepared to provide the following:

• Valid government ID to confirm your identity
• Court-documented SSN card with correct SSN
• CP565 Notice
  If you no longer have the CP565 notice, please contact the IRS to receive a copy and follow up with SoFi. This is required documentation.

To update your Citizenship, please be prepared to provide the following:

• Valid government ID to confirm your identity
• Naturalization Certificate, Travel Documents or Certification of Citizenship
