Understanding the application process and requirements for a SoFi Credit Card can help you get started with confidence. Below, you’ll find answers to common questions about eligibility, the application process, and more!
To apply for a SoFi Credit Card, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old (or the legal age in your state)
- Live in the United States
- Have a valid mobile phone number and email address
- Provide a verifiable name, date of birth, and Social Security number
You’ll need to share:
- Your full name
- Permanent resident address (no P.O. Boxes)
- Date of birth
- Citizenship status
- Social Security number
- Phone number and email address
- Annual income and monthly housing expenses
In some cases, you may also be asked for additional documentation, such as a copy of your driver’s license or a current photo ID to verify your identity.
The best way to be considered for the SoFi Credit Card offer is to ensure that you are a SoFi member and that you have opted in to SoFi marketing messaging - you will be periodically considered for a pre-qualified offer based on your creditworthiness.
Here’s how to apply for a SoFi Credit Card:
- If you receive a pre-qualification offer, use the link in your email or the SoFi app to start your application.
- If you haven’t received an offer, you can still apply by visiting the SoFi credit card page and selecting “Apply Now.”
- Complete the application by entering your personal and financial information, and complete two-factor authentication.
- Review your details, agree to the Terms and Conditions, and submit your application.
If approved, your card will arrive in 7–10 business days, and you can add it to your digital wallet right away.
You can’t apply with a co-signer, but you can add up to 5 authorized users after your account is approved.
At this time, SoFi Credit Cards are for personal use only and cannot be used for business purposes.
You can only have one SoFi Credit Card per Social Security number. However, you can be an authorized user on someone else’s SoFi Credit Card.
When you apply, SoFi performs a soft credit pull, which doesn’t impact your credit score. If your application is approved, a hard credit pull is done at final approval, which may affect your credit score.
