When a purchase is made on the Smart Card, a reservation is placed on your Checking & Savings account to hold the funds as collateral until the transaction is approved and the payment due is made.
This reservation reduces the available balance you are able to spend, but does not move or debit funds. These reserved funds are not accessible for other use and only released when used for payment toward the Smart Card balance or it the transaction is refunded, reversed or otherwise canceled.
