You may have already received, or will soon be receiving, an email from SoFi letting you know that a corrected 1099 document is available for your SoFi Invest account.
This happens for a few reasons. The most common are:
- If any information on your 1099 was found to be incorrect or missing, or was changed after your initial 1099 was completed, a corrected 1099 will be issued.
- If there was an income reclassification by an ETF or publicly traded company, whose stock you own. ETF issuers and publicly traded companies are able to make these changes even after the date to deliver tax documents has passed.
When filing your taxes please ensure to use the most recent copy of your 1099 tax form sent to you by Apex. If you have already filed your taxes, we encourage you to contact a tax advisor to understand the next steps and any tax implications.
