Receiving an unexpected 2FA code can be alarming, but it does not always mean your account was accessed.
In some cases, third-party services linked to your account, such as Mint, Intuit, or YNAB, can trigger a 2FA code when they attempt to sync your account information.
As a precaution, we recommend that you:
- change your password
- review your account for any activity you do not recognize
SoFi may also send secure SMS text messages in some cases to communicate directly with applicants and members. If you prefer not to receive text messages, sign in to your SoFi account and update your Communication Preferences under Account Settings.
You can also manage push notifications in your Notification Preferences.
If you notice anything unauthorized or suspicious, please chat with one of our agents or call (855) 456-SOFI (7634) for additional help protecting your account.
