At this time, closing your SoFi Credit Card is a permanent action, and you will not be able to reactivate the account once it is finalized. Keep the following in mind:
- Primary Account Holder: Only the primary account holder can submit a request to close the account.
- Finality of Closure: Once your account is closed, you will not be able to re-apply for a new SoFi Credit Card or reopen the existing account. An alternative is to freeze your card if you believe you may want to use it again in the future.
- Outstanding Balance: You remain responsible for the full remaining balance on the account. You will continue to receive a monthly statement until the balance is paid in full.
- Rewards: Ensure you redeem any remaining cash back rewards, as they may be forfeited upon account closure.
The process for closing your account must be initiated by contacting SoFi directly at 844-945-7634 to confirm all final details.
Once the closure process is initiated and finalized, you can expect the following:
- Final Statements: You will continue to receive a monthly statement until any remaining balance is paid in full.
- Credit Balance Refund: Any credit balance remaining on the account will be automatically refunded via check to the address on file within 150 days.
