You can fund your SoFi Invest account by linking your SoFi money account, personal checking, or savings account, initiating an account transfer (ACAT), rollover, check, or wire. Additionally, you can set up a recurring deposit to ensure you have money ready for when you want to buy or make a one-time deposit at any time.
Clearing Period and Instant Funding
ACH deposits up to $50,000 from your SoFi Checking and Savings account may be available to trade instantly. If your funds were deposited using an external bank account, the availability for investing will be based on your instant funding limit. Any funds exceeding your instant funding limit will be available to trade three business days post deposit. Under ‘Pending Deposits’(on the app)/'Upcoming Buying Power' (on the website), you can view the remaining requested funds preparing for deposit.
Note:
- All new ACH deposits must go through a clearing period of 5 full business days before the funds are available to withdraw. On the 6th business day, you should be able to withdraw those funds.
- You can deposit/withdraw up to $50,000 per business day. If you attempt to deposit/withdraw more than $50,000 in one day, your transaction will be rejected.
- You can only link a personal checking or savings account to your SoFi Invest account. We are not able to link to business accounts, 3rd-party accounts, custodial accounts, credit cards, or prepaid debit card accounts. Please make sure you are the owner of the bank account. Your name and SSN on file must match on both accounts.
- We cannot accept 3rd-party checks with the exception of 401(k) or IRA Rollovers.
