When you deposit money into a SoFi Invest account from an external bank, that deposit is placed on a five-business-day hold. The sixth business day is when your funds are available to be withdrawn back to the bank of origin. You are still able to make trades during this holding period. Deposits from SoFi Checking or Savings may require 1 business day before the funds can be withdrawn.
Do keep trade settlement times in mind as well, when you sell a stock or ETF, the funds must settle for one (1) business day before the proceeds can be withdrawn.
Mutual funds have a one to two (1-2) business days settlement period, and the timeframe for Alternative Funds to liquidate and settle may be longer depending on their interval window.
Additional hold times may apply; withdrawing funds to the original bank may expedite the process.
If your funds are settled but are not available to withdraw, please reach out to one of our Invest agents by phone or chat to review your account.
