To verify your identity, you must provide valid and unexpired identification documents. The required documentation varies based on your citizenship or immigration status.
For U.S. Citizens
Acceptable ID Documents Include:
- A valid, unexpired U.S. driver’s license with photograph
- Color image; front and back required
- A certified U.S. birth certificate
- A valid, unexpired U.S. passport
- A valid, unexpired U.S. Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
- A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID
- Excludes military and federal government employee IDs
- A valid, unexpired Global Entry card (front and back)
- A Report of Birth Abroad of a U.S. Citizen (Form FS-240, DS-1350, or FS-545)
- A Certificate of Citizenship (Form N-560 or N-561)

A Certificate of Naturalization (Form N-550 or N-570)
For Permanent Resident Aliens
Submit ONE of the Following
- Green Card (Form I-551) with no expiration date

Green Card with an expiration date more than two years after the "Resident Since" date
- If expired, also submit proof of extension (e.g., Form I-90)

Green Card with an expiration date two years or less from the "Resident Since" date
- If the card will expire within 90 days of submission, you must also provide:
- A Form I-751 Receipt Notice (NOA) or

A Form I-829 Receipt, issued within the past 12 months
- If the card will expire within 90 days of submission, you must also provide:
For Non-Permanent Resident Aliens
Acceptable Documents Include:
- A valid, unexpired visa (e.g., E-2, E-3, H-1B, J-1, L-1, O-1)
- Form I-797A or I-797B

I-485 receipt or approval notice (Application to Register Permanent Residence)
- Must be accompanied by a valid government-issued photo ID
- Excludes military and federal government employee IDs
Note for F-1 Visa Holders:
- If your F-1 visa is expired, you may still be eligible if you provide a valid Form I-20 that confirms F-1 status and includes:
- A future program end date, or

Authorization for post-completion OPT, STEM OPT, or CPT with a valid future employment end date
For DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) Recipients:
- A valid Employment Authorization Document (EAD) indicating current immigration status
- Must also show that you have applied for:
- DACA (Form I-821D) or

Permanent Residency (Form I-485)
For Asylum Seekers:
- A valid Employment Authorization Document (EAD)
- Proof of applications for both:
- Permanent Residency (Form I-485), and

Asylum and Withholding of Removal (Form I-589)
Important Reminders:
- All submitted documents must be valid, unexpired, and show all four corners clearly
- Documents with photographs must be submitted in color
- Military IDs and federal employee IDs are not accepted
