How do I open an Active Investing brokerage account?
First, log into the SoFi Mobile App.
Once you are logged in click on the “Invest” icon at the bottom of the page.
Click on “Start Active Investing" or "Start Investing".
Next, select "Start Active Investing".
This will take you to the contact information screen and will auto-populate most of your information. Please verify the information is correct and complete, and agree to the disclosure. Then, click the "Next" button.
Select the account type.
Select the “No” button under “Are you using this account for retirement?”
Select “Personal Investment Account” and click the "Next" button.
There we will be a few more questions for you to answer.
Finally, you will review the agreements and terms of service, then check the box to agree, and click on the "Agree and continue" button.
You will have the option to fund the account.
If you would like to add a bank link, please follow the instructions below.
You can search for your bank or select it from the options listed.
Once you select your bank, you will be asked to enter your login credentials for that financial institution and then click the “Next” button.
If your bank was not listed, please click on the box at the bottom of the screen that says “Don’t See your Bank”. This will allow you to manually enter your bank routing number and account number. You will need to select either Checking or Savings as the account type. Click on the "Next" button.
You can also click on “Skip this step for now” at the bottom of the page.
Once a bank link has been established you can click on the “Add Money” button to schedule a deposit.
