Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an extra security step that helps protect your account.
In addition to your username and password, you may be asked to verify that it is really you by:
- entering a one-time passcode (OTP) sent by text message or phone call
- entering a code from an authenticator app
- completing identity verification
You may be asked to complete 2FA when you sign in on an unrecognized device, sign in after 30 days of inactivity, reset your password, or update the email address on your account.
This added step helps keep your account secure, even if someone else knows your password.
