What is a micro-deposit and why does SoFi use this?
Micro-deposits are used to verify ownership of an external account and to ensure your account is securely linked with us. SoFi will deposit two small amounts into your external account (each under $1)
Note: Once you have entered the required account information needed to link, you will receive a message listing the steps to verify your micro-deposits.
Once I receive my micro-deposits, how do I connect my account?
- Login to your SoFi account
- Click on the ‘Money’ Tab
- Select the ‘Transfer’ button
- Locate the option to confirm your micro-deposits
- Enter both amounts separately.
- Confirm your amounts - and you are all set!
Please note: Amounts entered must match the amounts deposited into your bank account. If there is a discrepancy, the confirmation will not appear. If you continue to have issues feel free to contact us.
If my account link is unsuccessful, can I regenerate new micro-deposits?
Yes! To regenerate new micro-deposits, you will need to complete the required manual account linking information and allow time for the two new small deposits to re-appear in your external account.
NOTE: Micro-deposits will expire if not entered into your SoFi account within 30 days.
