If your option is out-of-the-money, SoFi will take no action and your options will typically expire. If you’d like to submit a Do-Not-Exercise request, complete the steps below:
- Log in to the SoFi app or website
- Select the SoFi Invest account holding the option you do not want exercised
- Under Investments, select the applicable options contract
-
Toggle on the Do Not Exercise option
- If your account lacks sufficient funds or shares, complete the Do Not Exercise toggle by 2:00 PM ET on the (non-holiday) expiration date. After 2:00 PM ET, requests are best-efforts only due to the sellout process starting.
Note: The Do Not Exercise toggle can be turned on or off until 4:00 PM ET on the expiration date for accounts with sufficient funds or shares.
Options involve risks, including substantial risk of loss and the possibility an investor may lose the entire amount invested in a short period of time. Before an investor begins trading options they should familiarize themselves with the Options Disclosure Document. Tax considerations with options transactions are unique, investors should consult with their tax advisor to understand the impact to their taxes.
